Alexandra Park Homes & Real Estate Toronto

For residents, this small neighbourhood in the downtown heart of Toronto is known as “Dunbat” (from the Dundas-Bathurst intersection). By either name, Alexandra Park is a comfortable mixture of old and new, with 19th and 20th century homes together in a community bordered by Spadina Avenue to the east and Bathurst Street to the west, and reaching south from Dundas Street to Queen Street West.

The older Alexandra Park homes are classically Victorian in style, dating back to the 1880s and 1890s. There is also a small number of semi-detached bungalows and homes, built in the 1920s and 1930s. Prices for these older homes vary quite widely, ranging from $100,000 up to about $500,000.
The new section comprises townhomes built in the 1960s as part of the Alexandra Park Housing Cooperative. These homes are more expensive, ranging from around $600,000 up to $1-million.

Quick, easy access to the downtown business, shopping and entertainment core is one of Alexandra Park’s attractions. Streetcars on all surrounding major streets connect residents to the subway, and the Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore boulevard are close by for those who prefer to drive.
The unique shopping experience of Kensington Market is also close at hand to the north of Dundas Street... and Toronto’s famous Chinatown is also within easy distance.

The area is served by five elementary schools, one private school, three high schools, and a library. The Ontario College of Art & Design is adjacent, and University of Toronto and Ryerson University are nearby in downtown Toronto.

For recreation, residents of Alexandra Park homes need look no further than the park that gives the neighbourhood its name. Here they have access to an outdoor pool, wading pool for children, artificial ice rink and tennis courts.
