The Entertainment District Homes & Real Estate Toronto

The Entertainment District of Toronto is the downtown area of Toronto that is concentrated around the Spadina University, University Avenue and the King Street West. It is home to theatres and other major performing arts centers. Toronto’s major league sports teams and other cultural and family attractions are also located here. In fact, this is the third largest theatre center in the English Speaking world after New York and London respectively. This urban neighborhood is packed with an array of hotel brands, restaurants, bars and plenty of nightclubs. There are also plenty of modern office towers, historic manufacturing warehouses, artists’ studios and office lofts. There is thus a vibrant business community in this area.

Some of the best theatres in the world are also located in this area. One of these is the Alexandra Theater that is located on King Street West, west of the University. Other world class theaters located on the same street are The Roy Thompson Hall and the Princess of Wales Theater. The Roy Thompson however is not the architectural gem that it was intended to be by the Architect. It however today has an ugly flashing around each pane of glass.

Near the Royal Alex, also along the King Street along the Simcoe Street beside Roy Thompson Hall is Canada’s ‘Walk of Fame’. Here, plagues stylized with maple leaves are awarded to Canadians who make significant contributions to the world of entertainment. The Entertainment District is also bordered by other exciting neighborhoods like the Queen Street West, the John Street and the Financial District. Other attractions include the Fashion District, Festival Hall, the Rogers Center and Chinatown. Price house ranges in this area are from $100,000 to over a million dollars.
