The Beach MLS Listings
Toronto Beaches homes for sale and Real Estate
For anyone looking to enjoy a quiet life, The Beaches real estate is definitely a first choice. Bordered by the sandy shoreline of Lake Ontario to the south, 4-lane Kingston Road in the north, and stretching from Eastern Avenue to Leslie Street in the west, the neighborhood has a friendly, small-town feeling and is considered one of the most beautiful, tightly knit communities in Toronto.
The beach itself is an uninterrupted stretch of sandy shoreline, comprising (east to west) Balmy Beach, Scarboro Beach, Kew Beach and Woodbine Beach, with the famous Boardwalk along most of its length — traditionally, a favourite destination for Torontonians.
Queen Street East is the lively, eclectic commercial heart of The Beaches, lined with hundreds of boutiques, specialty stores, antiques shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.
Streetcars to and from downtown Toronto run east-west along Queen Street East, Kingston Road and Gerrard Street East, while north-south bus lines connect to the Woodbine, Coxwell and Main Street subway stations.
On the tree-lined side streets, The Beaches homes are typically well-maintained. Large-scale Victorian and Edwardian style detached dwellings are common, with some spectacular homes to be found at the most exclusive addresses on Glen Manor Drive.
It should be noted that The Beaches homes for sale and Beaches real estate are not inexpensive. A semi-detached home along Queen Street East can fetch an asking price of $400,000, and mansions built recently on the site of the old Greenwood Race Track have exhibited a rapid rise to the $1-million mark.
