Midtown Toronto Homes & Real Estate

Midtown Toronto is an area of Toronto roughly encompassing the north of Bloor Street (south of which is Downtown Toronto) and south of Lawrence Avenue, (north of which is Uptown Toronto.) Its east and west borders are defined as Bayview Avenue to Marlee Avenue/Oakwood Avenue/Ossington Avenue.

Yonge and Eglinton is the centre of this area. It consists of the following neighbourhoods:
Yonge and St. Clair: Rosedale, Forest Hill, Deer Park and Summerhill generally qualify as the most upscale cluster of neighbourhoods in the City – comparable only to the central portion of Lawrence Ave. In its possession are the most exclusive residences in the city. The historic and suburban Mount Pleasant Cemetery and St. Michael's Cemetery are found here.

Yonge and Eglinton: "Yonge and Eg" is the centre of Midtown and is the junction of North Toronto, the northern edges of Davisville and Chaplin Estates. This area includes several high-rise office buildings, the Eglinton Station, and a large mall-office complex. It also houses many restaurants, two multiplex cinemas, and a diverse retail strip. Recently this region has been undergoing increased commercial and residential development and a massive influx of young urban professional singles and families.

Davisville: Davisville Village includes the area west of Yonge Street to the east side of Bayview Avenue, and south from Eglinton to Merton Street, overlooking the vast park-like setting of Mount Pleasant Cemetery. This is one of the most attractive neighborhoods in Toronto, and is home to many residential high-rise apartments and a host of boutique shops. The large Victorian and Tudor homes are among the more dear residences within the city.

Except perhaps for Merton Street, Davisville's lack of new high-rise condominium developments preserves a look and feel similar to that found in Toronto's other upscale low-rise neighborhoods such as The Beaches, Lawrence Park, and The Kingsway.
