Dufferin Grove Homes & Real Estate
Dufferin Grove is bordered by Bloor Street to the north, Dufferin Street to the west, Ossington to the east, and Dundas Street to the south—taking in Little Portugal and Bloorcourt Village within its boundaries. It is a neighbourhood characterized by well-maintained housing stock, and streets lined with massive mature oaks that have seen most of Toronto’s history.
A stroll through the neighbourhood in spring and summer is like a walk in an urban oasis, among homes and gardens that reflect the care and pride that residents have for their neighbourhood. Most Dufferin Grove homes were built in the late 19th and early 20th century, and architectural styles vary from elegant two- and three-storey Edwardian detached homes and semis to charming English-style cottages.
On the east side of Dufferin Avenue, south of Bloor, Dufferin Grove Park forms the beating heart of a vibrant community. Unlike other city parks, the largest green space in the neighbourhood caters to residents of Dufferin Park homes with a wide variety of facilities and events organized and run by a community support group. The playground, picnic areas, community pizza ovens, Wi-Fi access, winter skating rink, community dinners and live events offer recreation and relaxation for families, while the Farmer’s Market provides health-conscious organic shopping for locals and visitors alike.
The neighborhood has two high schools, West Toronto Collegiate and Bloor Collegiate Institute, and several other elementary schools. Shopping is handily close by at Dufferin Mall, an enclosed shopping centre south of Bloor Street on the west side of Dufferin, with a supermarket, department store, clothing and specialty stores. The commute from Dufferin Grove homes to the city core is quick and easy, with excellent service by buses and the Bloor subway line.
