The Junction Homes & Real Estate Toronto
The roughly triangular Junction neighborhood comprises the area north of Annette, south of the Canadian Pacific Railway corridor, and between Runnymede Road and the Canadian National Railway corridor to the east.
Residential housing is located in the neighborhood centre, with the area’s remaining industries confined to the periphery adjacent to the railway tracks. The factories of the Junction Triangle are a traditional source of employment for many residents of the neighborhood.
The narrow tree-lined streets of the Junction Triangle offer two and three-storey Victorian-style houses, mostly built in the 1910's and 1920's, with many of the brick exteriors colorfully painted. Most housing in this neighborhood has been converted into two and three family dwellings by investors looking for income producing properties and owner/users seeking to off-set their mortgage costs.
Junction homes are well-served for shopping, dining, and recreation. Galleria Shopping Centre at the corner of Dupont and Dufferin streets, and the Crossways, at the corner of Dundas and Bloor provide convenient indoor shopping and professional services, while the shopping district of Junction Gardens is popular for its selection of smaller stores shops and restaurants. The local street shopping is also available on Dupont Street, Bloor Street, as well as the north part of Symington Avenue.
The Junction Triangle is close to Hill Park and takes in four local parks with facilities that include playgrounds, artificial ice rinks and wading pools. The local YMCA, at Perth and Annette offers a wide variety of programs for children and seniors, and Perth Dupont Public Library has programs for children and preschoolers.
This neighborhood has bus service on Dupont, Keele and Dundas Streets and on Landsdowne and Symington Avenues. The Dupont and Dundas buses connect to the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line, while the Symington, Keele, and Landsdowne buses connect with stations on the Bloor-Danforth subway line.
